Humans and demons are two sides of the same coin, as are their respective worlds, Assiah and Gehenna. The only way to travel between realms is through possession, as in ghost stories. The Apocalypse Virus spread across Japan on December 24, 2029, the day colloquially known as the “Lost Christmas,” killing its citizens and plunging the country into complete chaos. Shuu is drawn into the conflict the moment he saves Inori, and the Void Genome shatters in his hand, bestowing the “Power of the Kings” upon him. Shuu must now fight to liberate Japan from its cruel oppressors while learning how to control his magnificent new ability.

12. Plunderer

Alcia is a world ruled by “Counts”: numbers engraved on a person’s body that represent any number related to their life. In Alcia, these Counts determine a person’s social status and power. If a person’s Count reaches zero, he or she is sent to the Abyss, a place said to be worse than death.

Hina, a traveller whose Count is determined by the distance travelled, saw her mother being dragged down into the Abyss. Determined to fulfil her mother’s final wishes, she embarks on a journey in search of the legendary Aces—heroes of the three-hundred-year-old war who wore a white star next to their Count.

Hina meets Licht Bach, a mysterious masked man with a negative Count, and Nana, the owner of a tavern, while wandering around. Hina is tricked into fighting a military soldier while she is having a good time. Despite his negative count, however, Licht saves Hina and reveals that he has another count, one with a white star, one of a legendary Ace.

Plunderer follows Hina and other Alcia residents as they learn the truth about their world, the Abyss, and the legendary Aces.

11. Date A Live

A supermassive “spatial quake”—a phenomenon involving unknown space vibrations—devastated the Eurasian continent thirty years ago, killing over 150 million people. Since then, these quakes have struck the world on an irregular basis, albeit on a smaller scale.

Shidou Itsuka appears to be an ordinary high school student who lives with his younger sister, Kotori. When an impending spatial quake threatens Tengu City’s safety, he rushes to save her, only to be caught in the ensuing eruption. At its source, he discovers a mysterious girl who is revealed to be a “Spirit,” an otherworldly entity whose appearance causes a spatial quake. Soon after, he becomes embroiled in a conflict between the girl and the Anti-Spirit Team, a ruthless strike force dedicated to the annihilation of Spirits.

However, there is a third party who believes in the salvation of the spirits: “Ratatoskr,” which is surprisingly led by Shidou’s younger sister! Following the battle, Kotori forcibly recruits Shidou, offering him an alternative method of dealing with the Spirits’ threat—make them fall in love with him. Now, the fate of the world is dependent on his dating prowess, as he seeks out Spirits to charm them.

Makoto Naegi, a teenager with no exceptional talent, is surprised to learn that he has been accepted into Hope’s Peak Private Academy, an elite school that attracts the best students from a variety of fields. Despite his belief that his admission was a fluke, Naegi is overjoyed to be attending a school that is known for ensuring the success of its graduates. He enters the prestigious academy’s front doors, determined.

However, after losing consciousness inside, Naegi awakens in what appears to be an abandoned classroom. Naegi, unable to comprehend how he arrived, begins to explore and, to his surprise, discovers his classmates gathered in the gym. While everyone is trying to figure out what happened, the school principal—Monokuma, a robotic teddy bear—approaches them. The mysterious toy explains that the freshmen are trapped inside the school and have only one way out—kill a classmate without being noticed.

Tension rises as Naegi and his classmates realise they have two options: participate in Monokuma’s killing game or live together in the school for the rest of their lives.

Hitokiri Battousai was a legendary assassin who lived in the final years of the Bakumatsu era. Kenshin vows never to kill again and devotes his life to protecting the weak. One day, he runs into Kaoru Kamiya at her kendo dojo, which is under attack by an impostor posing as Battousai. After receiving assistance from Kenshin, Kaoru allows him to stay at the dojo, causing the former assassin to temporarily halt his travels.

Edo was a city that embodied the zeal and ambition of samurai from all over the country. 1. Kimetsu no Yaiba

Tanjirou Kamado has carried the burden of supporting his family on his shoulders since his father’s death. Despite living in poverty on a remote mountain, the Kamado family leads a relatively peaceful and happy life. Tanjirou decides to go down to the local village one day to make some money selling charcoal. Night falls on his way back, forcing Tanjirou to seek refuge in the home of a strange man, who warns him of the presence of flesh-eating demons in the woods at night.

When he returns home the next day, he is met with a horrifying sight: his entire family has been slaughtered. Worse, his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a bloodthirsty demon, is the sole survivor. Tanjirou, consumed by rage and hatred, vows to avenge his family and stand by his only remaining sibling. Tanjirou will do whatever it takes, alongside the mysterious Demon Slayer Corps, to slay the demons and protect the last vestiges of his beloved sister’s humanity.
